The Curve CELEBRATES RAYA WITH
SAYANG, PUSAT ANAK-ANAK ISTIMEWA
(Article from The Curve website)

SELANGOR, September 9, 2008 – As part of its commitment to reach out to the
community during Ramadhan, Malaysia’s first pedestrianised lifestyle shopping
centre, the Curve, invited a group of down syndrome children from Sayang, Pusat
Anak-Anak Istimewa, Selangor to have a festive buka puasa at its premises.
Upon arrival, the management and staff of the Curve were present to meet and greet
the children at the Centre Court which had an exotic Arabian themed ambience. This
year, the décor was themed Souk Bazaar and the children were able to experience
the rich sights and sounds often associated with the traditional Islamic marketplace.
The children were then ushered to Kwikcut to have new haircuts in preparations for
the Raya celebrations. Kwikcut is a popular hair salon and is known for their fast yet
quality services.

Subsequently, the children were taken to MJ at Metrojaya for a fun shopping spree
to select their baju raya. With vibrant colours and designs, the children were spoilt for
choice as they tried on their new clothing at the well-established departmental store.
The highlight of the day was when celebrities Jehan Miskin, Diana Danielle, Farid
Kamil and Aaron Aziz made an appearance to spend time with the children. Jehan
Miskin is an award winning actor and experienced host while Diana Danielle is a
highly sought after actress. Farid Kamil is also a well-known actor and model while
Aaron Aziz is a popular Singaporean actor.

This was followed by the buka puasa dinner at Eden restaurant which opened its
doors in early September 2006 at the Curve. The restaurant has a strong family
concept and proved to be a hit with the children as they happily tucked in to a
delicious spread of Western and Asian dishes.

Madam Adele D. Flores, Centre Manager, the Curve said, “Staying true to our belief
that festivals are a time for sharing, we have once again invited a group of
underprivileged children to join us for Raya. This is a strong reflection of the Curve’s
initiative to touch the lives of the less fortunate on an annual basis.”
“To brighten up the Raya atmosphere, we have also specially invited these wellloved
celebrities to bring an additional cheer for these children. Overall, we are
pleased to note that all our activities have brought much joy and laughter for them
during this special festival.”
